Apartment Building Amsterdam

B+O has built an apartment building on the Bilderdijkkade in Amsterdam, on the edge of the popular De Hallen entertainment area. The realization was part of the development of five apartment buildings on the authentic canal. The building has ten apartments and one penthouse. Special about the realization is that it is built in Collective Private Clientship (CPC). This made the initiative one of the first CPC projects in the capital. After an architect selection, the eleven private individuals had opted for the design of B+O.

The request was to realize a special building with the appearance of an original Amsterdam canal house. This is reflected in the main design with a plinth over two floors, the brick construction in a light and dark shade and the top facades with the special crowning. The building is twenty meters high and is divided into a vertical parcel in the facade. This accentuates the narrow verticality of a canal house and prevents it from becoming too massive a block. The glazed earthenware tiles in the facade plinth and cornice give the building extra cachet. The apartments have an area of approximately 100 m2 and each has its own floor plan, as chosen by the residents themselves. The penthouse tops off the building across the full width and has an area of 200 m2.
