Care Home Het Gastenhuis Teteringen
B+O Architecten has made the design for a new assisted living location of Het Gastenhuis in the former town hall of Teteringen. The monumental part at the front was kept intact. The non-original expansion on the rear has been demolished and replaced with a two-layer new building. This new building has a subdued appearance, so the emphasis remains on the monumental part. In total, 20 assisted living apartments, a shared living room as well as a living kitchen have been realised. Two apartments are suitable for couples who want to keep living together. There is also a club in the building where both residents and visitors can come together.
The Guest House is a small-scale care formula for people with dementia. The Guest House allows people to live at home as long as possible, by providing personal care in the own home. When living at home is no longer possible, the people with a care need are given a new home in one of the branches of the Guest House. Each Guest House is led by a live-in care (married) couple. They are responsible for all the care that is offered in and from their home. The atmosphere is warm and homely. When people still live in their own homes, they are welcome here for various activities. Because they spend some time here and get to know the people, the eventual move to the Guesthouse does not have to be so drastic.
