Havelte House

Hidden among the greenery along the Helomaweg in Havelte is a house that is well positioned along the road, has a broad view over the adjacent lands and has a structure that looks classic, but still fits well into the landscape of Drenthe.

The large roof surface, finished in black roof tiles, refers to the roof surfaces of the surrounding farms and is playfully interrupted by a row of seven adjacent roof windows. Right under the roof, the wall has been pulled back, which gives the illusion that the roof rests on a few small uprights. This creates tension in the design.

This house translates the atmosphere of the location into its own time and is thus an example of new construction of large, modern country houses in Drenthe.
