Office Univé Dwingeloo
B+O Architecten made a design for a sustainable, new office on the outskirts of Dwingeloo on behalf of Univé West-Drenthe. The design strongly takes into account the adjacent historic buildings. For example, the building has barn-like characteristics and has been placed at the rear of the lot. This way, the new building fits in to the characteristic village well.
The barn-like characteristics are reflected in the simple shapes. The upper floor has a closed off character thanks to a striking, dark façade cladding. The façade cladding also refers to the blackened barns. The ground floor on the other hand is very transparent thanks to the many glass walls. The storeys have been left open as much as possible. Spaces with a special function can be closed off with glass doors.
